The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will include an improved Lightning connector that will support USB 3.0 speeds (4.8 Gbps).

-The Lightning port will continue to operate at USB 2.0 speeds (480 Mbps).

This overcomes the bandwidth issue and allows Apple to avoid switching to USB Type C, allowing them to continue to profit from any accessories that use the Lightning port.

After all, by launching a device with a Lightning connector, you are paying a portion of the revenue to Apple, and the firm has made it clear that it does not intend to lose this revenue stream.
