The USB Type-C connector has been approved by the European Commission as a universal charging connector
The European Parliament's Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection endorsed the proposal to make the USB Type-C interface the universal standard for charging devices supplied in the EU.
According to the legislation, all smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, headphones, headsets, portable game consoles, and portable speakers marketed in EU countries must have a common charging connector.
Small devices such as smartwatches, fitness bracelets, and other gadgets that cannot use the USB Type-C connector due to their size will be the exception.
