The search results in Gmail are being improved by Google, which should make it simpler to locate a certain contact. Google explains in a blog post that it is introducing "tailored suggestions" and "intent matching for names and email addresses" in Gmail.
Gmail should help you focus your search and locate the precise contact, email, or file you're looking for by using intent matching, a machine learning method Google uses to uncover subjects related to your search.
Google gives an example of how first names and email addresses that match your query will now be displayed in Gmail before matching last names. This will be helpful if you typically search for contacts using their first name, because those results will now show up first. Prior to this, Google had prioritized matching last names over matching first names.
Additionally, Gmail now offers tailored suggestions that order search results according to how frequently you engage with them. Now, the contacts you correspond with the most will appear above the contacts you don't when you search for someone's name or email.
Even though these are very minimal changes, they should result in a modest productivity improvement that makes it simpler and quicker to locate the contact you're looking for.
Recently, Google has been working on updates for all of its Workspace apps, including a revamp of Gmail that it began pushing on customers in June. In order to reduce the number of spammy invites, it also improved the appearance of its calendar invitations and introduced a new feature.
