The first modification to the Chrome icon since 2014 was released on February 4 by a Google Chrome designer.
The browser logo has been simplified, brightened, shadows removed, and the inner blue circle has been enlarged.
Hu stated that the designers customised the new Chrome logo for several operating systems.
As a result, they made the icon look smoother in Windows 10 and Windows 11, while in Chrome OS, they used brighter colours without gradients to match the look of other system icons.
The new symbol for macOS was also refined by Google's Chrome designers.
To mirror the other Apple logos, the Chrome logo is rendered in a faux three-dimensional format.
