Rene Ritchie, a full-time YouTuber for the past two years and the former editor-in-chief of the Apple-focused website iMore, will join YouTube as its new creative liaison, he revealed on Wednesday. In his role as creator liaison, Ritchie will represent creators on YouTube and collaborate with them to help them grasp the platform, he said.

I count myself as one of Ritchie's more than 325,000 subscribers to his own YouTube channel. I gain a lot from his absolutely encyclopaedic knowledge of Apple because most of his films are in-depth analyses of Apple-related topics.

Ritchie has obviously put a lot of effort into building his network on YouTube because his video announcing his new position contains customised clips from many different producers, including well-known figures like Mr.Beast, iJustine, and MKBHD

Ritchie's experience creating his own channel, his relationships with other creators, and his extensive tech knowledge position him as a perfect candidate for the liaison position as YouTube continues to add features like Shorts, livestreaming, and improved comment spam elimination tools.Ritchie will serve as the second creator liaison for YouTube. Matt Koval, the first, quit YouTube in February.

Ritchie will take over the @YouTubeLiaison Twitter account as part of the role; his face already serves as the account's avatar. Ritchie also claims he'll keep working on his own YouTube channel despite having a new job.
