iCloud was used to steal $650,000 from a MetaMask cryptocurrency wallet user

According to the company's administrator, fishing attacks against MetaMask's bitcoin wallet software have been reported. The attacks are carried out through Apple's iCloud cloud service.

Following the theft of $650,000 in cryptocurrency from one of the wallet users, the warning was sent. On April 15, he began receiving text messages about resetting his Apple ID password, which led to the theft.

It was an invader with a phoney ID who sent the fake communications, claiming to be from Apple.

The cybercriminal then used social engineering techniques to convince the victim that there was suspicious activity on his Apple ID and that he needed to submit a one-time code as well as validate his identification.
