CAMM modules from Dell were presented, and they might replace existing standards

Precision notebooks will contain them.

The main goal is to preserve space. In reality, one module replaces two SO-DIMM modules since it integrates two sets of memory chips. The dual-sided version of the CAMM module can hold up to 128GB and is 57% thinner. In this scenario, four 32GB SO-DIMMs will be replaced by one module.

Another oddity is that the 128GB module will only operate at 3600MHz, which is extremely low for DDR5. The 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB modules will all operate at 4800MHz.
