Meta makes its first investment in Asia with a $3 million seed round for a mental health startup
Employers have been compelled to realise that mental health cannot be ignored in the workplace because of widespread emotional fatigue caused by overwork and exacerbated by the epidemic.
Companies are joining Ami, a growing mental health platform. The Singapore and Jakarta-based firm, which was founded in January, intends to make mental healthcare more accessible to Asian employees through counselling sessions conducted on messaging platforms such as WhatsApp.
Ami was created by cofounder and CEO Justin Kim, a Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia alum from 2020, and CTO Beknazar Abdikamalov.
Ami has closed a $3 million seed round from investors including Meta's New Product Experimentation, four months after its beta debut.
