In truth, it's just processed cellulose, which makes up 40–50 percent of the wood; scientists removed the excess and gave it a specific treatment.

Scientists cut a kitchen knife blade and some nails from the resulting plate.

The knife proved to be 23 times stronger than its wooden counterpart, and its tip remained three times sharper than the steel blade.

The knife may be used to cut any food and can even be washed in the dishwasher thanks to the mineral impregnation.

Even after being used to chiselling a few planks, the nails have not dulled. What's more, these nails aren't afraid of anything.
