Richard Ofori, the goalie for Ghana, is back in first-team practice after missing more than two months due to a knee injury
Richard Ofori, the goalie for the Black Stars, has resumed full training after overcoming a chronic injury that prevented him from competing in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
After being absent for more than two months, the shot-stopper, 29, worked out with the Orlando Pirates' first squad for the first time on Friday.
Since his last outing for the Soweto giants in the MTN 8 tournament on November 5, 2022, against AmaZulu FC, Ofori has been sidelined with a knee injury.
Due to the injuries he was dealing with, the Ghana deputy captain was unable to attend the world championship that was held in Qatar from November 20 to December 18, 2017.
Ofori was in excellent shape before his situation because he had manned the goal for the Buccaneers when they defeated AmaZulu in the MTN 8 final and won the championship.
He played in three games during the campaign, keeping two clean sheets and allowing just one goal to help the Pirates win the title.
Ofori has also played in 10 games for the South African Premier League this season, making five clean sheets while giving up six goals.

If he stays healthy, he will likely receive the next call to represent Ghana in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola.
