Dax Tejera, an executive producer for ABC News, died of a heart attack at age 37
One of the journalism industry's own has passed away.
Network president Kim Godwin reported the death of Dax Tejera, the executive producer of ABC News' This Week With George Stephanopoulos, on December 23 at the age of 37 following a heart attack. His wife, Veronica, and their two daughters, Sofia, 2, and Ella, 5 months, survive him.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Godwin said that ABC News and you "shone every Sunday morning as EP of This Week with George Stephanopoulos Dax's enthusiasm, passion, and love for the show." The same affection was shown to his darling girls.
The Tejera family as a whole, as well as his wife Veronica and their two young girls, are in our prayers, she added. "Hug your loved ones even closer on this Christmas Eve. "Please support one another."
Tejera's coworkers paid tribute to their friend on social media soon after the tragic news was announced.
"Such a tragic day for everyone at ABC News," wrote ABC News correspondent John Quiones in a tweet. "In addition to being the smartest and most caring executive producer I've ever worked with, Dax Tejera was also a close friend. "My sympathies are with his wife Veronica and his two little girls on this Christmas Day."

Jim Avila, Senior National Correspondent for ABC News, said, "Dax was a revolutionary episode." It's crucial to ABC that a Latino executive producer is among the first, if not the first. He and I were coworkers at Fusion and ABC. They were consistently encouraging and excellent. He will be missed, and I sympathize with his young family.
