Users may soon be able to report status updates on WhatsApp
WhatsApp is always developing new features to enhance the user experience. The messaging app is currently developing a new function that will enable users to post status updates on the desktop beta. According to reports, WhatsApp is building a new option in the status section that will streamline the reporting procedure. People already have the opportunity to report contacts and messages on WhatsApp that break the app's terms of service.
Users will soon be able to complain about status updates on WhatsApp, according to Wabetainfo. You can report videos that hurt people's feelings or incite violence on WhatsApp, for example, if one of your contacts published an offensive movie as a Status update. The function is presently being tested on the desktop version of the messaging app.
A new menu will be available in the status area where users can report status updates. With the help of this feature, you will finally be able to alert the moderation staff if you come across any questionable status updates that might be in violation of their Terms of Service. The status update will be sent to WhatsApp for moderation purposes so they can determine whether there is a violation, as is the case with reporting messages, Wabetainfo noted.
Wabetanifo added that the capability to report status updates is a feature that is in the works. The function will be made available in a later version of WhatsApp Desktop Beta.
In related news, WhatsApp intends to make the DND feature available on the desktop version of the app. You may now switch off WhatsApp call alerts on Windows with the assistance of a new feature coming to WhatsApp. Through the official beta channel on the Microsoft Store, customers can choose to turn off call feature alerts.
According to WhatsApp, users who have updated the WhatsApp app for Windows are likely to see a choice in the app's settings that allows them to turn off notifications. If a user doesn't want to receive WhatsApp calls, the new function will let them silence them.
Along with the DND capability, WhatsApp has also included a new "Accidental delete" tool that enables users to reverse messages marked as "delete for me." All Android and iOS users have access to this capability, which gives users a 5-second window in which to retrieve erased texts. Therefore, you can use the "delete for me" message to undo any deletions that you made in error.
