On the afternoon of April 3, Miami police arrived at Courtney Clenney's condo and discovered her holding her bleeding lover in her arms.

At the neighboring Jackson Memorial Hospital, Christian Obumseli, 27, who had been stabbed in the chest, was declared dead. Clenney, 26, was charged with his murder last week, the alleged conclusion of what detectives called an evolving "violent and toxic" relationship in their arrest warrant affidavit.

The model, Courtney Tailor, who has a 2 million-follower following on Instagram and OnlyFans, has insisted that she acted in self-defense.

Although both parties allegedly took part in "many acts of domestic violence" since November 2020, investigators claim in the affidavit obtained by E! News that Clenney's actions intensified and ultimately led to his death.

When Clenney was detained in Hawaii on August 10, her lawyer, Frank Andrew Prieto, told E! News that there was "clear evidence" that his client had been defending herself on the night in question and that the charges were an "absolute injustice."

Obumseli attacked and choked her that night, and Courtney had no choice but to respond violently, according to Prieto. Furthermore, he continued, Clenney had cooperated fully with law enforcement and was prepared to self-surrender to authorities "in an effort to start the judicial procedure that would exonerate her of the accusations."

The attorney said, "Courtney was in Hawaii seeking treatment for her PTSD and difficulties relating to this case. He declared that they would "vigorously defend Courtney." and free her of this false accusation.

In Hawaii, Clenney is still being held without bail on a charge of second-degree murder with a dangerous weapon while his extradition is being processed. The date of her first court appearance in Miami is set for September 12.

Obumseli's brother, Jeffrey Obumseli, referred to Clenney's arrest as "progress" in a message that was shared on social media.
