Samsung has formally introduced Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 4.0, the newest generation of flash storage.

Most significantly, the business revealed vital details. Compared to UFS 3.1, UFS 4.0 provides rates of up to 23.2 Gbps per lane. As a result, the new memory provides sequential read speeds of up to 4,200 MB/s and write speeds of up to 2,800 MB/s thanks to cutting-edge seventh-generation V-NAND memory and a proprietary controller. Although it is significantly slower than the drive in the PlayStation 5, it is faster than the SSD in the Xbox Series X.

Samsung also mentions increased power effectiveness. The new memory outperforms UFS 3.1 by 46 percent, delivering 6 MB/s per 1 mA. The solution is compact, according to the business. The chip will be 11 x 13 x 1 mm in size and have a maximum storage capacity of 1 TB.
