Google has long been rumoured to be planning a wristwatch launch.
The Pixel Watch was expected to become the benchmark wearable device, on par with Apple and Samsung's offerings.
Premium hardware and strong Wear OS software have been credited with improving the user experience.
But, until today, all of these forecasts were just that: speculation.
Why?
According to rumours, Google has long believed that the Pixel Watch isn't ideal and isn't yet ready to fulfil the purpose it was given.
But it appears that the company's viewpoint has shifted, and it is now ready to show off a product that it is proud of.
