Fraudsters set up a phoney design studio and hired real individuals without paying their salaries
Fraudsters set up a phoney design studio to high individuals |
The BBC has released the findings of a journalistic investigation into the fictitious London design business Madbird.
It turns out that a specific individual, who introduced himself as the studio's founder and former Nike creative director, developed and maintained the illusion of a successful design business for a long time.
He compared himself to Elon Musk, claiming that Musk works 16 hours a day while he tries to work 17.
He borrowed terms from Steve Jobs' arsenal and bolstered the morale of the staff he employed in every manner. Employees were recruited on the internet for a six-month probationary term.
In the end, neither the position nor the money went to any of them.
