We excavated a hole. Scientists from the Wyoming State Parks Department, who arranged for photographic seismic measurements, said, "We found what appears to be a gigantic root system emerging from the base of Devils Tower." 

The root system was measured at 6.4 kilometres in depth and 11.2 kilometres in width. 

We're doing research and testing right now to make sure it's a root system and not a coincidence. " The Indians named this mountain the Tree of Life for a reason.
