A man claims that his girlfriend called him "stingy" for refusing to cover the cost of her friend's dinner, which included appetizers, dessert, and beverages

When his girlfriend asked him to cover the "ton" of items her buddy had ordered at their previous supper, the man was "caught off guard."

OnReddit's "Am I the A------" topic, the 28-year-old guy detailed the restaurant incident and the fallout from being "annoyed" about paying for himself, his 27-year-old fiancée, and her friend.

Originally, it was just the two of us, but at the last minute, she asked if her friend, Sarah, could come."Sure, no issue," he started his post."We all had a great time at dinner, and I put down my card to cover my girlfriend and myself when the bill arrived."

Hisgirlfriend asked him, "Oh, babe, can you cover Sarah's too?" after he remembered that "Sarah" had not reached for her card or any cash.

He said, "I was caught off guard."Sarah ordered an enormous amount of food, including appetizers, beverages, and dessert, and her portion was nearly equal to ours altogether. Well, I wasn't really planning on that," I responded after hesitating.My partner said, "It's just easier if you do," with an ashamed expression.

Theguy claimed that even though he saw the brief back-and-forth, the buddy "stayed quiet" and "didn't offer to pay" for her share of the meal bill, so he made the payment instead.
