Here's Why Dating Broke Women Makes Kenyan Men Uneasy
What makes broken women unattractive to men?
By asking males to share their stories of romantic encounters with impoverished women, X user @polokimanii opened a can of worms in a tweet that has now received over 450,000 views.
Some recounted how they were defrauded of their hard-earned money, while others detailed how their attitude toward money led to shameless abuse. A few disclosed how they were made into moneymakers.
The men claim that as the first period of the relationship wears off, women who are actively dating but have no money frequently resort to a crutch and spell disaster for the union.
They disapproved of the idea that "men are providers" and encouraged other men to find out a possible partner's financial status before committing to a relationship.
One X user described how his partner's demand that he provide for her entire family was not a successful extortion scheme.
The comments were as hilarious and sometimes sad as the ones compiled below:
@Brian_tallguy:
“She demanded to eat three eggs after coming over, as if she had laid them. The next day, she ate three chapatis. That is how I dumped her.”
@mwendwah1_:
“This one told me she likes late-night drive dates, yet her dad doesn’t even own a bicycle.”
@KevowUle:
“Never date a woman with M-Kopa phones. When you want to meet, they tell you their phones are locked.”
@Rhian_254:
“She stole my gas cylinder.”
Mwenda Thuranira warns men about broke women
In other news, real estate tycoon Mwenda Thuranira told men to keep off broke women.
“Don't ever date a broke girl, no matter how gorgeous you think she is.
They are serious liabilities,” he warned.
