Support for Apple Pay is gradually being added to PayPal's cards

Users of PayPal may now add cards to the Apple Wallet app, as the company has begun to roll out support for Apple Pay for its debit and credit cards.

At some point in 2023, PayPal and Venmo credit and debit cards will enable Apple Pay and Apple Wallet, according to a November 2022 announcement by the company. Ten months later, it appears that the support will soon arrive.

Users are learning they may register for Apple Pay by adding their PayPal card to the Apple Wallet, according to iMore, even though this hasn't been formally acknowledged by PayPal. For certain customers, a banner urging them to add the card to Apple Pay shows on the PayPal app's home page.

As not all users are currently able to see the banner, there may be a slow soft launch before a full rollout. Additionally, it doesn't appear to be a choice offered to Venmo users either, though that might change at a later date.

The launch will be PayPal's most recent effort to update its payment infrastructure and improve the compatibility of its products with Apple's ecosystem. PayPal added Apple Pay as a payment method for small businesses in April.

Additionally, according to PayPal, Tap-to-Pay compatibility for the iPhone is scheduled to debut in 2023.
