Delivery projections for the iPhone 15 Pro Max were met minutes after preorders opened

The iPhone 15 Pro Max sold out within minutes of Apple accepting preorders for the iPhone 15 range, and delivery dates had to be postponed until October.

The opening of Apple's preorders was delayed by around two minutes in the US and up to about six minutes elsewhere, but for a very brief period of time, all iPhones were listed as shipping on September 22. Apple stated they would do so on that day, but it wasn't a date that held true for very long.

The delivery date for the iPhone 15 Pro Max eventually changed to "7–10 days," which might still refer to September 22 but is highly unlikely to do so.

After only 30 minutes of preorders being available, the iPhone 15 Pro Max suddenly became available in "2–3 weeks."

Both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are still available for delivery on Friday as of the time of writing. For an oddly brief while, the iPhone 15 Pro displayed "5-7 days," but it is now showing "7-10 days."

These are the dates for each iPhone 15 model's standard configuration and the first color choice that Apple has provided. However, the iPhone 15 Pro Max in every color and option, including the 1TB model, is currently backordered.

It is impossible to tell for sure whether the iPhone 15 Pro Max is selling out sooner than anticipated because Apple never publishes sales or production numbers.

Users should try visiting an Apple retail location on Friday, September 22, 2023, if they still want to purchase one before October.
