Following Apple's announcement, independent vendors, small businesses, and major stores in Brazil will be able to accept payments using iPhones as a payment terminal.

The feature, which was released in February 2022, enables compatible iPhones to collect payments via contactless credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets using nothing more than an iPhone. No additional hardware, such as a credit card reader, is needed.

On the iPhone, Tap to Pay employs NFC technology to securely authenticate contactless payments. Additionally, the functionality enables PIN entry and has accessibility features.

With Stone, Nubank, SumUp, and Granito following soon after, Cloudwalk is the first payment provider to make Tap to Pay on iPhone available to their business customers in Brazil.

Customers can use Tap to Pay on an iPhone with an iPhone XS or later, and it functions the same way as any other Apple Pay transaction.

Simply launch the app, log the sale, and hand over your iPhone to the buyer so they may pay with a compatible contactless payment option.

More than 700,000 additional companies in the U.S. now accept Tap to Pay on iPhones, and the capability has also been made available at U.S. Apple Stores.

Following earlier implementations of Tap to Pay in the Netherlands, Australia, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom, Brazil is the sixth region to do so.
