Mysterious gunmen kill Mujipe Chief, leaving his son hospitalized in critical condition
Following the shooting murder of the local chief, whose son was also shot in the back and is reportedly in serious condition at the hospital, security has been stepped up at Mujipe in the Tuluwe Traditional Area of the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region.
According to myjoyonline.com, the terrible situation happened on Thursday, March 30 between 7 and 8 o'clock in the evening.
Many lives and property were lost in a conflict between the two traditional leaders and their communities roughly two years ago.
Before passing away a few weeks ago, the late Yagbonwura Professor Sulemana Tuntumba Bore Essa I resolved the conflict.
Saeed Muhazu Jibril, the regional minister for Savannah and the head of the regional security council, branded the incident as criminal and savage. He vowed that the perpetrators would be fished out and arrested to face the rigours of the law.
This is terrible and brutal. Killing another person is illegal in every way. As a fundamentally criminal matter, this case needs to be addressed rigorously. According to Jibril, the culprits must be located and held accountable for their crimes, according to myjoyonlin.com.
According to reports, the new Yagbonwura is upset about the development because he is adamant about finding a solution to the ongoing conflict between the Mujipewura and Kakpadewura.
