Here is what Gwyneth Paltrow told the man who sued her after the verdict in the ski accident was made public
The internet is buzzing about the final day of the Gwyneth Paltrow ski accident trial, but not in the way you might expect.
Terry Sanderson was found "100%" to blame for a 2016 skiing accident involving the Goop mogul by a Park City, Utah, jury on March 30. The 50-year-old got up from her seat, crossed behind the retired ophthalmologist on her approach to the door, and leaned in to whisper something in his ear after being informed she may leave the courtroom after the verdict (Paltrow had refuted Sanderson's claim that she had skiied into him in a countersuit).
The brief conversation soon gained popularity on social media, and many people created memes to speculate on what was said.
What specifically did Paltrow tell Sanderson? According to a witness, the Oscar winner said, "I wish you well," according to News.
Paltrow gave an interview to News shortly after leaving, and in it, she discussed her legal victory. She said, "I felt that accepting a fraudulent allegation damaged my integrity." "I am happy with the result, and I appreciate all of Judge Holmberg's and the jury's hard work, and I thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this matter," the plaintiff said of the verdict.
In a second statement, her attorney Steve Owens added, "We are happy with the jury's unanimous decision and value how carefully the judge and jury handled the matter." "Gwyneth has a history of standing up for what she believes in; this instance was no different, and she will keep doing so."
The jury determined that Paltrow was not responsible for the skiing mishap and gave her $1 in damages, which is what she had requested in her countersuit against the 76-year-old.
In court documents obtained by News, Sanderson claimed that Paltrow had run into him while skiing down a beginner-level slope at Utah's Deer Valley Resort when he first filed suit against her in 2019. In his lawsuit, Sanderson said the incident left him with a brain injury, four fractured ribs, other injuries, and "serious psychological disorders, including dread, worry, and sadness."
A month later, Paltrow filed a counterclaim against Sanderson, alleging that he was the one who "plowed into her back" and "blamed her for it in an attempt to exploit her celebrity and money."
