The Reason the Former Black Stars Coach Left His Position |
Otto Addo, the former head coach of the Black Stars, insists that his resignation had nothing to do with the nation's elimination from the FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars were eliminated at the group stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, failing to advance to the round of 16.
The Black Stars finished group H with just three points after winning one game and losing two others.
The Black Stars were participating in the world championship of football for the fourth time after their debut in Germany in 2006.
The team thereafter participated in the FIFA World Cups in 2010 and 2014, which were held in South Africa and Brazil, respectively.
"So, the six-month contract will end now, and it has nothing to do with the outcome or result; it would have ended as World Champions, and I have to respect my contract and the club I'm working for," the player said.
