Despite Ghana's elimination from the World Cup 2022 group stage, Ajax is happy for Mohammed Kudus |
Following Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus' outstanding performance in his World Cup debut, Dutch powerhouse Ajax Amsterdam has expressed their pride in him.
With three goals for the Black Stars at the tournament in Qatar, the 22-year-old Ajax midfielder was Ghana's top player.
In the second group match against South Korea, Kudus scored twice to help Ghana win. The Black Stars' equalizer against Portugal in the opening Group H match came from his assist to Andre Ayew.
He also earned the Black Stars a penalty against Uruguay, but Ayew failed to convert it as Ghana was eliminated from the competition after losing to Uruguay 2-0.
Following the game, Ajax posted on Twitter, "Proud of you, Mohammed Kudus."
Ghana abandoned the tournament after just three games, as the club expressed in another tweet.
However, Kudus has become the talk of numerous major clubs as a result of his spectacular performances in Qatar. Barcelona has expressed interest in the Ghanaian, while Liverpool sent scouts to see the versatile player.
The Right to Dream Academy alumnus will be given some time off before heading back to Amsterdam to get ready for the Eredivisie's return after the World Cup.
