Alice Tapper, Jake Tapper's daughter, is considering a health emergency.
The 15-year-old chronicled her health experience in an opinion piece for CNN on December 15, outlining how a misdiagnosis from the previous year turned out to be extremely risky—and perhaps fatal.
Alice stated in the article, "It started one weekend in November 2021 with stomach cramps, a low fever, chills, and vomiting." "I quickly realized that I needed to visit the emergency department." By the time I arrived, I was experiencing severe abdominal discomfort, low blood pressure, an accelerated heart rate, and a high white blood cell count.
She said that after receiving IV fluids "to counteract my dehydration," she did not feel any better. Alice claimed that at that moment, she was sent to a different hospital, where her symptoms persisted.
"My parents told the physicians to check for appendicitis with the advice of my pediatrician," she said. However, the physicians ruled it out because I had tenderness throughout my abdomen, not just on my right side.
"The doctors determined that what I had to be a viral infection and would eventually just go away," the teen continued.
However, things continued to deteriorate after that. Even though her skin briefly went "pale green," according to Alice, doctors continued to just advise Tylenol for her pain.
