Nigerians and 41 others cannot obtain a visa upon arrival in Ethiopia

Nigeria is no longer included in the list of African countries that can get visas right away when they visit the Ethiopian embassy.
In addition to Nigeria, this latest development has an effect on 41 additional countries.
A memo with the information was sent to the travel companion on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
The statement says
"Please be advised that Nigerian citizens will no longer be eligible for visas on arrival, effective immediately. Before departing, passengers must get a visa at the Ethiopian Embassy in Abuja.
Please be aware that the ban does not apply to those who are passing through Addis Abeba overnight. E.g. The ban does not apply to passengers who have a layover in Addis and are departing the following morning for Zanzibar, Seychelles, Lusaka, Lilongwe, Harare, Cape Town, etc. They are also not required to obtain a transit visa for their journeys.
