Asamoah Gyan's quest to be a member of the Black Stars squad for the 2022 World Cup looks to be supported by former Ghana Football Association president Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe.

Gyan, 36, said he has not retired and is preparing a spectacular comeback to the Black Stars after being sidelined since 2019. He made this statement in a recent interview. The former Sunderland striker expressed a desire to move to Qatar but acknowledged that in order to be taken into consideration, he must be in top physical shape.

Gyan, who hasn't played competitive football in 15 months and hasn't had a club since last October, has started training in the hopes of being in shape enough for Black Stars coach Otto Addo to take him into consideration.

Incredibly, Asamoah Gyan has left his stamp on Ghanaian football. If he has the stamina and is a competent football player, why not? According to a board member of Hearts of Oak, Graphic Sports,

The majority of people who responded to Gyan's interview are against him, but Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe contends that those who do so should take into account what the legendary Cameroonian player Roger Milla, who was 38 at the time of the 1994 World Cup, and England's Stanley Matthews did for their nations.

He has the skills and tactics, but the strength to play is the problem. If he can work on that, he will be a fantastic addition to the World Cup, "he added.

Gyan has scored a record 51 goals for Ghana.

"At a ripe old age, Roger Milla decided to compete in the World Cup and fared well. We can also discuss Englishman Stanley Matthews, who played a significant role in the squad and was dubbed the "tactical magician."

Later, Ken Harrison, the 1950s general manager of Hearts of Oak, extended an invitation to him to visit Ghana. "He remembered."

"I firmly believe he should be able to play if he can match the tempo of training and the physicality of the current team. Therefore, if the coach deems him fit, he should be invited."

"Gyan must possess the talent because defenders are afraid to approach him while he is racing with the ball."
