The Premier League-eligible striker from Ghana, Antoine Semenyo, is wanted by Crystal Palace to reinforce their assault.
The Eagles are searching for a new danger up front after Christian Benteke left and think Semenyo can fill that role admirably.
After making an impression in the Championship last season, the club could take a chance on the 22-year-old, who would cost about £12 million.
Strikers from all around Europe have been linked to Palace, but a domestic player would fit their objectives better.
Although the Premier League club is also seeking loan players, they prefer to invest in individuals with improvement potential.
Last season, Semenyo contributed 12 assists and eight goals, earning him his first call-up to the Ghanaian national team.
He made his Black Stars debut against Madagascar in Cape Coast during a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match in June.
