How to properly configure a swap file

The swap file is used to expand the RAM. The operating system first uses the swap file on the hard drive to make up for any space that is lacking if there is a shortfall. This assists in preventing premature RAM filling and any related issues.

-Access the Start menu, open the search bar, and type "System Presentation and Performance Tuning" to start the programme.

-Select "Virtual Memory" under the "Advanced" tab, then click "Change."

-Remove a check mark from the box next to "Automatically select swap file size."

-Select the system drive from the list by clicking "Specify size," then highlight it.

Enter the minimum swap file size (at least 400 MB) on the "Original size" line, and the maximum size (an amount you want the system to deduct) on the "Maximum size" line.

- Select "Set," then click "OK."
