Colombia's Las Lajas Sanctuary
This lovely edifice is tucked away in a difficult-to-reach gully. The dates of the temple's construction have been disputed by several sources. It is said to have been built between 1769 and 1776 by priest Eusebio Meja y Navarro. The dome on top of the second structure was made of brick. Others claim it was constructed around 1802.
The final construction took place between 1916 and 1949. J. Gualberto Pérez, an Ecuadorian engineer, and Lucindo Espinosa, a Colombian architect, were granted the assignment. However, a Google search reveals that it was built in 1916 and that's it. It wasn't until you dug a little deeper that you discovered it was the fourth time you worked on it.
