I Decided to Be a Mother, Not a Wife: An Adopted Child's Story of a Single Mother
When a guy abandoned the little child, Mukamana Salama took Shadia under her wing when her sister declined to look after her.
The woman said that because of her extreme poverty, she was unable to care for any more children and made the decision not to get married.
No guy would adore Shadia like his own daughter, Mukamana said, explaining why she remained unmarried at the age of fifty.
A good-hearted woman has disclosed the tragic reason why she is still single at her advanced age.
Mukamana Salama, a fifty-year-old single lady, has no desire to fall in love and be married.
The attractive woman said that her decision to go in that manner was driven by her own anxieties and negative experiences.
Why women choose not to marry
The compassionate woman has a daughter whom she adopted, and she was among the reasons she chose not to have a man.
"I decided not to marry a man because I saw that if I got married and had children, I would not be able to raise them all while I was poor. I also did not believe that the man we would marry would love this child, and my entire family rejected me because of this child. Sometimes, they would come to our house and mistreat us," she told Afrimax English.
Mukamana claimed she adopted Shadia when she was five days old and had taken care of her for 17 years.
Kittens are all around the baby on the floor
She mentioned that a guy had come up to her and her sister, asking them to watch over a little Shadia while he took care of some business.
"The man left and never returned. My sister spent the night with the child, and she went with her to her workplace in the morning. When I joined her, I found Shadia on the ground, surrounded by kittens. I picked up the baby and put her on my back, and in the evening, I went back with her after my sister refused to care for her," she recalled.
Since then, Mukamana has cared for Shadia like her mother, saying the little one needed love and care and could not leave her behind.
