Only a few Android innovations were demonstrated by Google at Google I/O 2023, but one of them was the ability to design your own emoji wallpapers for Pixel phones. The function is currently rolling out to users of Android 14 Beta 3, appearing in the Wallpaper and Style settings. A new app called Emoji Workshop Wallpaper, which is gradually becoming available on the Play Store, is what makes the wallpapers possible.

Google News noticed the launch on Telegram, where it also succeeded in obtaining and disseminating an APK of the new software. If you're intrigued, go ahead at your own risk, but we'd advise against installing this APK as it's not from a trusted source like APK Mirror. For the new emoji wallpaper section to appear on Android 14 Beta 3, you might need to restart your device and force-quit the Wallpaper & Style app. Once the Emoji Workshop Wallpaper app has been loaded, it appears to be accessible relatively consistently for users of Beta 3.

When all goes as planned, the wallpaper selector interface gains a new Emoji Workshop area. When you tap it, a predetermined wallpaper preview appears with the opportunity to select your own emoji, patterns, and colors. A randomize button can also be used to further modify your UI. Twenty premade colors and five predetermined patterns are available: mosaic, lotus, stacks, sprinkle, and prism. Each of them provides a slider so you can change the emoji's particular size. Up to 14 emoji might be used at once during our testing.
