Wilson Arthur discusses his ideas for using the MTN FA Cup to encourage investment in the game
The MTN FA Cup chairman revealed that one of the decisions his committee made was to use the competition to encourage commercial investment in football.
The Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex will host both games on Saturday and Sunday in the semifinal round of the FA Cup. Arthur thinks the selection of Abrankese was deliberate since it was done to generate more financial support for the sport.
"We made the decision to promote private investment in our football by using the semifinal and championship games. In light of this, consider the investment made by Dr. Kwame Kyei. It's worthwhile what he accomplished here. Therefore, bringing the games here to show the world that it was a private investment inspires others to do more, said Arthur.
On Saturday, May 13, 2023, Dreams FC will play Division One team Skyy FC in the first semifinal match, and on Sunday, King Faisal and Nsoatreman will square off for a place in the championship game.
