The finest Android launcher for many years has been Nova Launcher, which achieves the ideal mix between usability and aesthetic appeal without emptying our wallets. The creator of Nova also releases updates rather frequently, keeping everyone's favorite launcher up-to-date. This tradition is continued in the most recent beta channel release, which includes bug fixes and enhancements to dynamic theming.

 

 

To make things easier for fans of customization, Nova Launcher has introduced a number of customization tools and made a few adjustments in the sixth beta release since the Branch takeover in June of last year. The text, home screen, and app drawer can all be dynamically customized with Nova Launcher, but widget customization capabilities have just been added in version 8.0.4 of the launcher. Any widget that supports dynamic theming has a long-press feature that allows you to change the color or return to the default setting where it matches other UI elements.

 

 

While we're talking about color pickers, we should also highlight that Nova provides more dynamic theming colors outside of the standard palette. The most recent beta build provides six accent colors in addition to the 36 UI surface colors that are derived from the Material You dynamic color palette based on your current wallpaper. Older versions, in contrast, only offered 12 options for UI surface themes. Check out this modification in the Nova Search, folders, and app drawer color options.

 

 

On launchers like Nova, icon customization is equally crucial. We were unhappy to see that icons with dynamic theming capabilities do not automatically update on Nova after changing the wallpaper while testing the new Lawnicons v2. The icon pack needs to be manually applied one more time. Although Nova hasn't exactly resolved the problem with the latest beta build, it has streamlined the procedure for re-applying the selected icon pack when you change the wallpaper.

 

 

The wallpaper zoom issue, widget crashes on MIUI 14, and other bugs are also fixed in Nova v8.0.4. Try out these new features by downloading the beta from APKMirror or the Nova website.
