Lisa Marie Presley, passed away at age 54
Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis Presley's lone child, has passed away. 54 years old.
"My darling daughter Lisa Marie has left us, and I must share with a heavy heart," her mother Priscilla Presley said in a statement to People on January 12.
I have never met a lady who was as passionate, strong, and loving as she was. We request discretion as we work to process this tragic loss. Thank you for your prayers and kindness. No other comments will be made at this time.
EMTs were called to Lisa Marie's Calabasas, California, home on January 12 in response to a possible cardiac arrest, according to TMZ. Lisa Marie was then taken to the hospital.
Soon after the news surfaced, Priscilla posted on Facebook, saying, "She is now getting the greatest treatment." Prayers would be appreciated for her and our family. We appreciate everyone's prayers and ask for discretion at this time.
Just a few days before, the singer went to the 2023 Golden Globes with her mother, Priscilla, to watch Austin Butler win for playing her father in the movie Elvis.
Lisa Marie, who was born in Tennessee in February 1968, grew up in a house now known as Graceland, where she was surrounded by music.
In 2012, she recounted to Today that "we would go to bed at 4 or 5 a.m. and get up at 2 or 3 the next afternoon." "Every time, it was a lot of fun." Not a single bad memory exists. "The house always has a lot of life and energy."
Lisa Marie, who was nine years old when Elvis passed away there in 1977 at the age of 42, still has wonderful memories of the unique setting.
"When you go, it has an unbelievable energy," she told USA Today in September 2013. "Since 1977, nothing has been altered or moved, making it seem like a time capsule. The energy is still very much present, like a time warp. It's tangible."
Lisa Marie made the decision to pursue a career in music after growing up in a home full of music and performances.
