John Agyare Mensah, 19, who drowned in a pool today, is going home

Numerous hundreds of people flocked to the Christ Apostolic Church in Atimatim, in the Afigya Kwabre South, to say their final goodbyes to John Agyare Mensah, 19, better known to his friends as Atta, who died on December 26, 2022, in an unsuccessful attempt to swim.

It may be recalled that Eric Murphy Asare of Sompa News first reported the tragic news of a young 19-year-old named Agyare Mensah John, who was pronounced dead upon arrival at Trinity Hospital following an unsuccessful attempt to swim at the Life Hotel at the Ahwiaa Overseas.

Classmates, friends, members of the church, and members of the general public were present for the final burial ceremonies.

Leticia, the senior sister, told Sompa Tv's Eric Murphy Asare that although the family is grieving, they cannot question God.

"We've been through a lot, we've shed a lot of tears, and we've laid some of the responsibility at our own feet, but we believe God has a purpose for it all, and we can't question God."

The parents, Pastor Christian Agyare Mensah and Mrs. Comfort Yaa Frimpomaah, believe that it is best to refrain from approaching God with inquiries.

When asked what she needed in the world, the mother sobbed, "I don't need anything in this world but to see my son's face once more." He left me abruptly. "If I have the chance to change my life with his, I will do so more happily than to watch my son buried in that coffin."

John Agyare, 19, who was known to his friends as Atta, drowned in the Life Hotel's pool.

In the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region, in Ahwiaa Overseas, the tragedy happened on Monday night, December 26, 2022.

Atta, the dead, left his home to go to the picnic with his other siblings and friends.

Senior Sister revealed, "At 11 p.m., I received a call from one of the lads; he went with that; he has been admitted to the Trinity hospital after a failed swim."

"Atta perished after he attempted to swim at a depth of 9 feet in the pool this evening," a grieving younger sibling relates. I told him we should go back when we arrived at about 7 o'clock because everyone had already left, but he insisted on going swimming first even though it was really cold.

"He pushed me into the water, then came after."after." I could see that I was struggling to get out, but someone helped me, and to everyone's amazement, he was swimming. However, later, I realized that he was nowhere to be found, so I asked those in the water, but no one was able to provide me with a positive response.

He claimed that after making an announcement via the MC, a brief search revealed him to be submerged; an effort to revive him was unsuccessful.

He was taken urgently to the Trinity hospital in Pankrono, where doctors immediately declared him dead.
