Drinkers of Akpeteshi Threaten to Demonstrate Against the Government Due to Price Increase |
Drinkers of akpeteshi in the Central Region have vowed to stage demonstrations against President Akuffo Addo in response to Ghanaians' economic problems.
In an interview with Kasapa FM news, some akpeteshi consumers in the Mfantseman Municipality asserted that the price hike and the resulting economic difficulties have considerably decreased their consumption of the beverage.
They assert that although they could once buy akpeteshi for one cedi, the cost has since increased beyond their wildest expectations.
They declared that they would shortly issue a call for a sit-down strike.
They further asserted that because the cost has increased, no amount of akpeteshi can satisfy their hunger or make them feel inebriated.
