Callum Hudson-Odoi, who was left off England's World Cup roster, is getting ready to make a statement about his future in the international arena.
According to sources in the English media, Hudson-Odoi declined Ghana's offers prior to the World Cup in order to focus on his club football and keep his options open for any future England call-ups.
In a subsequent statement, the 22-year-old Chelsea winger will provide all of his reasoning.
Ghana has long been interested in Hudson-Odoi, who is presently playing on loan for Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.
The fact that Hudson-Odoi, a native of London, has Ghanaian parents and three senior England caps before turning 21 allows him to alter his nationality.
Despite not being in consideration for the Three Lions under Gareth Southgate for a long time, he does believe he can eventually get a recall.
Hudson-Odoi chose not to complete the required papers before the World Cup; hence, he was left off Ghana's 55-man roster list.
Earlier this year, the two players, Tariq Lamptey of Brighton and Inaki Williams of Athletic Club, respectively, switched from England and Spain to Ghana for the competition.
There may be encounters between Ghana and England at the World Cup in Qatar.
