Why does the new Dell XPS 13 outperform the MacBook Air in amazing fashion?

A significant turning point in the history of this venerable notebook is the 2022 Dell XPS 13. With the addition of the XPS 13 Plus to the range, Dell has transformed the ordinary XPS 13 into a highly affordable option.
If the Dell XPS 13 (9315) had continued on its prior course, it would not have been able to compete apples-to-apples with the M1 MacBook Air. Instead of directly competing with the MacBook Air, Dell seems to have chosen to work around it.
The starting price for the brand-new XPS 13 is only $829. This is the lowest price the XPS 13 has ever been, especially considering that it includes 512GB of storage as opposed to 256GB. The MacBook Air costs $400 more than the XPS 13 when both are configured similarly. That matters a lot.
Naturally, the MacBook Air continues to be a more potent, durable, and quieter notebook. However, Dell has made progress in each of those areas, at least enough to make the $829 price quite a bargain. The laptop's 9-watt Core i5-1230U or Core i7-1250U processor, which Dell selected, holds the secret to its success. These processors are less powerful than the typical 15-watt processors, and it's likely that Dell can purchase them from Intel for a little less money.
All that adds up to less performance, but improved battery life, quieter systems, and a cheaper price tag. In other words, a laptop that matches up with the strongest aspects of the MacBook Air pretty well.
Although the lack of performance is undoubtedly concerning, it is probably sufficient for the duties that a laptop of this kind is designed to be used for. On top of that, it is even thinner than the M1 MacBook Air at 0.55 inches.
