What causes tooth decay and how to prevent it |
After the age of 35 to 40, tooth erosion due to aging starts to occur lifestyle, level of oral care, excessive use of colorful foods and beverages, certain occupational situations (heavy metal intoxication), lack of minerals, and the presence of chronic disorders (diabetes, gastritis, colitis, and other GI diseases).
How to maintain good oral health:
1. Quitting smoking and drinking.
2. Cutting back on sugar consumption.
3. Avoiding highly colored foods and beverages, such as red and dark fruits, vegetables, berries, coffee, tea, and chocolate.
4. Brush your teeth twice a day after meals; use mouthwash, floss, and mouth irrigators at home to properly care for your mouth.
5. A well-balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, macro- and micronutrients, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.
