We Support Them:A journalist for Joy News gives a concerning account of what Ghanaians are really longing for

Bernice Awenlie Abu-Baidoo visited Okaishie this morning to evaluate the effects of GUTA's planned store closures on business.
What she found was this:
Last night, two wholesalers got communication from their suppliers informing them that the cost of the goods had increased. It is reportedly a weekly event. A supplier is also stockpiling his goods as a result of the uncertain cedi-to-dollar exchange rate.
Retailers who had been waiting outside a store for about two hours departed as the staff was changing the prices of the goods. She was informed that if there was an increment, up to 20 cedis would be added.
She made everyone she spoke to feel powerless. They agree with GUTA's decision to close stores in protest of the state of the economy.
The fact is that things are happening more frequently than normal. Many businesses would fail, and many people would be unable to purchase necessities if prompt action is not taken to solve the problem.
