Baba Rahman, a defender for Reading FC from Ghana, called his return "coming home."
The Royals acquired Rahman on loan from Chelsea for the second straight season to fill the vacuum created by the departure of a left-back.
Four days after the transfer, the 28-year-old came on as a substitute and helped the team defeat Stoke City 2-1.
We won last weekend (against Stoke), so things are looking up, according to Rahman.
I'm glad to be here, and I'm glad to see the guys.
"The season got off to a fantastic and spectacular start, so I hope we can continue."
"Returning to Reading felt like going home.
I am familiar with most of the guys and the management, so it felt like coming home.
Rahman will be wishing for a call-up to represent Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar this winter if his championship performances are to impress his international bosses.
Rahmah, who has 45 Ghanaian caps overall, will be looking to represent his country at the World Cup alongside Andy Yiadom, the captain of his Reading club.
