Are OnePlus and Nord set to have exclusive teams and offices?

According to our industry sources, OnePlus may be aiming to spin off Nord as a separate brand or even a sub-brand, similar to what Oppo did with Realme, Vivo with iQoo, and Xiaomi with Poco.
We revealed back in July that OnePlus intended to divide its Nord series into a completely independent brand. Although there hasn't been any formal confirmation, it appears that such a transfer is in fact taking place.
Some of our sources have told us that the teams in charge of OnePlus and the OnePlus Nord are going to be split off. Because the Nord is obviously a part of OnePlus, both brands are being managed by the same staff. However, plans to divide the teams and place them in separate offices, possibly even in different locations, appear to be changing this. According to what we've been told, it's likely that the Nord brand will have its own operations manager and marketing team, and hiring is undoubtedly already beginning in this area.
Even the idea of handling Nord by a different PR/communications firm has been floated; currently, the same firm handles both OnePlus and Nord. The two brands' vastly divergent communication methods are thought to be the cause of this divide. Although our source was unable to provide details on the timeline that is expected to be followed in this regard, it appears highly likely that this will begin in Q1 2023.
This would resemble the relationships between Xiaomi and Poco and Vivo and iQoo in some aspects and the one between OnePlus and Nord in others. Despite at times appearing to overlap, the concept appears to have two brands that cater to distinct market niches. When it comes to phones, OnePlus and Nord have stayed in separate pricing ranges, but we've heard that they may eventually enter other product categories as competitors. It's also extremely intriguing to observe that the Nord brand is extending its reach this year by entering TWS and preparing to enter the watch market.
If market sources are to be believed, it won't be long before the Nord name appears on fitness bands and televisions as well.
We think that the information provided by our sources about (and we would like to emphasize that this is not confirmed) the division of the teams and their location are both signs that the two brands will eventually go their separate ways, completely separate as we had previously reported. According to insiders, as we had previously reported, the Nord name would be found on more economical mid-segment and possibly even entry-segment budget items, while the OnePlus brand is likely to focus on more luxury offerings.
As we previously mentioned, there is a rumor that the Nord team will be mostly located in India and will use the nation as a hub for manufacturing.
Given the popularity of both names, the development of OnePlus and Nord as two distinct brands is expected to have a big impact on the Indian smartphone industry. But whether this actually occurs is still up in the air. We want to emphasize that we have not received any official information on this.
