On Thursday, August 18, 2022, midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey participated in his first game for Malmo in the Europa League qualifying round.
The 24-year-old player was introduced in the 70th minute of the Swedish team's 3-1 home victory over Sivasspor in the first leg of the final qualifying round.
Early this week, Lomotey obtained his work visa and was available for selection.
The Ghanaian international was introduced by Malmo head coach Andreas Georgson to take Moustafa Zeidan's place.
Lomotey joined the Sky Blue on a four-year contract to take Mahamé Siby's position, whose season has been cut short due to an injury.
After playing for Dreams FC for a year and a half in the Ghana Premier League, Lomotey transferred to the Spanish third division's Extremadura UD.
Before continuing his career at French club Amiens SC, he participated in a little under 50 games in the second and third divisions of Spain, playing for both Extremadura and Villarreal B.
He then played for himself in Amiens, where he appeared in 55 Ligue 2 games over the course of two seasons.
