In SM Caen's decisive home victory over En Avant Guingamp in the French Ligue 2 on Saturday, defender Emmanuel Ntim of Ghana scored on his professional debut.
The 26-year-old center back was playing in his first competitive match following his recovery from a preseason injury that prevented him from making his debut.
Ntim scored the first goal as Caen easily defeated Guingamp 4-1 in the fourth-round match at the Stade Michel d'Ornano.
The Ntim struck on a feed from Romain Thomas to tie the score for the home team in the 18th minute. Maxime Barthelme gave the visitors the lead in the sixth minute.
A minute later, Caen took the lead for the first time in the game thanks to a goal from international Alexandre Mendy of Guinea-Bissau.
Seven minutes after the half, French forward Samuel Essende increased the lead, and Benjamin Jeannot's penalty kick conversion in the 76th minute sealed the victory.
In the 69th minute of play, Ghanaian midfielder Godson Kyeremeh, who was born in France, replaced Mendy.
Ntim was removed in the 32nd minute after taking a knock, so he did not complete the game.
