Two test flights went smoothly

The world's largest functioning airliner, the Airbus A380, flew for the first time on March 25 using environmentally friendly fuel (SAF) manufactured mostly from discarded fats and cooking oil—much like what's used in the kitchen.

An identical plane flew from Toulouse to Nice for the second time on March 29.

Airbus has already flown several aircraft with 100% SAF, including the A350 and A319neo, both of which are scheduled to be delivered in 2021.

Because the A380 is the world's largest passenger airplane, the testing is noteworthy.

They are no longer manufactured by the corporation, but they are still used in various tests.
